Planned Giving

Planned Giving provides donors the opportunity to make lasting contributions to UCP of Central Florida. These gifts can be in the form of bequests, IRA contributions, and many other gift planning instruments. By taking advantage of various giving plans that produce life-long income, donors can receive charitable tax benefits for their estate gifts

Bequests

Many donors choose to remember UCP of Central Florida in their estate plans. Bequests may be for specific dollar amounts or for a percentage of the estate.

We are often asked about our preferred wording and suggest the following verbiage:

"I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the UCP of Central Florida Memorial Foundation, Inc., a not-for profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida, $________ or ________% of the residuary of my estate to be used for the areas of greatest need within UCP of Central Florida."

IRA Gifts

A new tax law signed by President Bush allows individuals an opportunity to make tax-free donations from their individual retirement accounts. The following are some general guidelines regarding these types of contributions:

Younger donors can participate by withdrawing retirement funds at age 59 ½ and gifting it to UCP of Central Florida; with careful planning, tax deductions donors receive for their charitable gifts often offset the income tax they owe on the withdrawal. And, under longstanding laws, donors can leave IRA funds to UCP of Central Florida in their wills, and their estates will not owe taxes on the money.
